                <text>Nan Perry Helbig was a Johnsonville native whose life spanned more than a century of local history. Born December 1, 1907, she was the youngest and last surviving child of Llewellyn Francisco “Uncle Zeke” Perry and Elizabeth Hortensia Baxley Perry of Johnsonville. She graduated from Johnsonville High School in 1925 and later studied piano performance at Coker College. After many years living in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she returned to Johnsonville, where she remained active in community and church life, serving for 17 years as organist and choir director at Johnsonville United Methodist Church. Her donated photo collection includes the Perry-Baxley family and related families as well as everyday life of the Johnsonville community.</text>
