Dr. Allen H. Johnson. the owner,
a graduate of the Baltimore Medical
college. is building this hospital as
a memorial to his father, the late
Dr~ L.B. Johnson. who enjoyed the
life of a busy practitioner in this
section for more than thirty years;
The site on which the hospital is
being constructed is situated on
South Main street, adjoining the
home site of the late Dr. W. C.
Hemingway on the not:th side and
the school property on. the south
side. The frontage of this property
measures more than 300. feet and
extends through the entire block
with like amount of space opening
on Lafayette street on the east side
making access. to the hospital easy
from both thoroughfares.
The two-story building, .·the main
portion of which measures 152 feet
long and thirty~three feet wide in
addition to the extensions to the
front and rear. is of moderilistic design and will be constructed of
brick and stucco. It will be heated
by a' hot water heating system in
the basement. The hospital will
have asphalt tile :floors. steel case- .
